About AMD drivers

The biggest single family is mobile graphics for Ryzen laptops from around 2019-2020 (the Picasso and Renoir generations). On these machines the graphics driver is the usual suspect when the screen flickers, an external monitor goes undetected or games crash - and the laptop maker's tuned build may behave better than the newest universal package.

The chipset driver is the other one worth knowing: it teaches Windows the power management and USB controllers of an AMD board. After a clean Windows install on a Ryzen system, put it in before chasing individual unknown devices - several of them usually disappear at once.
