HP ScanJet G3110 driver for Windows 11
The ScanJet G3110 is a home flatbed scanner from 2008 with genuinely good optics, and HP stopped supporting it. The last driver - from 2014 - is in the catalog, usually installs on Windows 11 by hand, and the scanner keeps working.
Why this happens
- HP stopped releasing G3110 drivers, so a fresh Windows finds nothing on its own.
- A Windows reinstall or upgrade wiped the driver that used to work.
- The scanning app and the driver are separate things - the app can fail while the driver is fine.
Quick checks first
1Plug it straight into the computer
Skip hubs (USB splitters) and front-panel ports - a flatbed scanner wants a rear port and a healthy cable.
2Find it in Device Manager
Press Win+X → Device Manager - the list of every device Windows sees. The scanner sits under “Imaging devices”, or hangs as an unknown device without its driver.
If the scanner is still invisible, install the last driver HP released - the catalog page below leads to it on the official server.

Fixing it manually
Install the last released driver
- Open the ScanJet G3110 page in our catalog - the last driver, dated 2014, from the official source.
- Run the installer; if Windows 11 refuses: Device Manager → the scanner → Update driver → “Browse my computer for drivers”.
- Reconnect the scanner.
Check scanning with the Windows Scan app
- Open the built-in Windows Scan app (free in the Microsoft Store if missing). If it scans, the driver is in place.
- For film and slides, or scanning with fine settings, add HP's own scanning software on top.
Know the exact device model?
Search the catalog by the model - ScanJet G3110 - or by the Hardware ID from Device Manager.
The model name is printed on the scanner's lid. In Device Manager it also carries a Hardware ID - the code that names it even when it shows as unknown (Properties → Details → Hardware Ids).
Try for example: ScanJet G3110 · read the Hardware ID guide · or browse the driver category

Frequently asked questions
▸HP Scan does not find the scanner.
Test with the Windows Scan app first: if that one scans, the driver is alive and the problem is in HP's app - reinstall the app, not the driver.
▸I have the ScanJet G2410, not the G3110.
A close sibling with the same install path. Its own driver - the Basic Feature Driver from 2015 - is linked above; “basic” means scanning runs through the Windows Scan app rather than HP's own software, and that is enough for everyday scans.
▸Does it scan film and slides?
Yes - the G3110 has a slide adapter built into the lid. It works through HP's own scanning software, so install that alongside the driver.
▸Windows says the scanner is not supported.
The manual path usually gets it installed anyway: Device Manager → Update driver → “Browse my computer for drivers”, pointed at the unpacked files.
