CanoScan LiDE 110 driver for Windows 11
The LiDE 110 came out in 2010, and Canon's site has no driver for Windows 11 - the last official package was released in 2016, for Windows 8 and 10. The scanner itself is usually fine: LiDE models have simple mechanics and take power straight from the USB cable, so there is little to break. That last driver normally installs on Windows 11 too - the steps below walk through it.
Why this happens
- Canon stopped releasing LiDE 110 drivers after Windows 10, so a fresh Windows 11 has nothing to install on its own.
- A Windows reinstall or a big update wiped the old driver, and the scanner stopped being detected.
- The scanning app is missing: the driver makes Windows see the scanner, but scanning into a file is the job of an app.
Quick checks first
1Swap the USB cable and port
The LiDE 110 takes its power from the USB cable, so a worn cable alone can make it invisible. Plug it straight into the computer, not through a hub (a USB splitter).
2Look into Device Manager
Press Win+X and pick Device Manager - the list of every device Windows sees. The scanner may sit under “Imaging devices” with a warning icon, or under “Other devices” as unknown. Both mean the same thing: no driver.
If the scanner is still not detected, it needs its driver put back - the last one Canon released. The catalog page below leads to it on the official server.

Fixing it manually
Install the last released driver
- Open the CanoScan LiDE 110 page in our catalog - it lists three versions, the newest from 2016, with downloads pointing at the official server.
- Run the installer. If it refuses on Windows 11: Device Manager → right-click the scanner → Update driver → “Browse my computer for drivers”, and point it at the unpacked files.
- Reconnect the scanner and give Windows a few seconds to pick it up.
Check scanning with the Windows Scan app
- Open the built-in Windows Scan app (free in the Microsoft Store if it is not installed). If it scans, the driver works.
- For scanning with settings - resolution, file type - install Canon IJ Scan Utility, Canon's own scanning app. It is separate from the driver.
Know the exact device model?
Search the catalog by the model name - CanoScan LiDE 110 - or by the scanner's Hardware ID from Device Manager.
The model name is printed on the front of the scanner. In Device Manager it also carries a Hardware ID - the code a device reports about itself, which identifies it even when Windows shows it as unknown (right-click → Properties → Details → Hardware Ids).
Try for example: CanoScan LiDE 110 · read the Hardware ID guide · or browse the driver category

Frequently asked questions
▸Canon says the model is not supported - is the scanner dead?
No. “Not supported” only means Canon will not release new drivers. The old driver keeps working, and the scanner keeps working with it.
▸Does the last driver work on 64-bit Windows?
Yes - the final package was released for 64-bit systems, which is what almost every modern PC runs.
▸Windows sees the scanner but IJ Scan Utility does not.
The utility is a separate app on top of the driver. Reinstall the utility itself; until then the built-in Windows Scan app covers basic scanning.
